Kien Giang River

The Kiến Giang River start out its life in the Annamite Range (Truong Son Range) located in the Le Thuy District, Quang Binh Province. The Kiến Giang River os only fifty eight kilometres in length and is a tributary of the Nhật Lệ.

After flowing through its course the The Kiến Giang River ends its life by flowing into the Long Đại River in the Quang Ninh District.

What is interesting about the Kiến Giang River is that its source flows down at a very angled slope. Because of this in the rainy autumn seasons the rain flowing into the upper source causes a fast and violent flow that results in flooding in the lower basin areas.

The Vietnamese have built the An Ma Dam which has helped the flooding situation dramatically.
