Bartuva River

The Bartuva River is one hundred and three kilometres in length. Of this fifty six kilometres is located within Lithuania and 47 kilometres in Latvia (In Latvia the river is called Barta).

The Bartuva starts its life in the North West of Lithuania in the district of Plungė around three kilometres north of the lake Plateliai. On its journey through Lithuania the Bartuva passes through the city of Skuodas.

When the river enters Latvia it meanders through the territory before entering Lake Liepāja before then finishing at the Baltic Sea.
