Bojana River

The Bojana river (also known as the Bunas river) is a river that is forty one kilometres in length and runs throguh Albania for half its journey before moving into Montenegro.

The river starts out its life at Lake Scutari (also known as lake Shkodra) before passing through the villages of Zues, Bërdicë, Tarragiat, Oblika, Obot, Shirq, Dajç and Gorica before forming the border with Albania and Montenegro then flowing through Monetengro and finishing at the Adriatic sea.

Although the river is short in length it has a total watershed of five thousand one hundred and eighty seven square kilometres, this is mainly due to the fact that this includes Lake Scutari which is one of the largest lakes in the region.

Many boats travel along the Bojana river as it is navigable for its whole length from source to the Adriatic sea.
